Zach Woodard

Zach is the Sports Director at NewsChannel10

Born and raised in Peoria, Arizona, he arrived in the Texas Panhandle area in 2024 and is extremely excited to tell the future of Panhandle sports.

After graduating from Centennial High School in Peoria, he attended Arizona State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sports Journalism. During his time at Arizona State, he covered numerous sporting events ranging from NASCAR Phoenix Raceway to the NCAA Final Four to the Super Bowl. He also interned with KTVK/KPHO Arizona's Family where he was able to learn from reporters like Mark McClune, Nick King, Julia Lopez and Elliott Polakoff.

After taking a creative writing class early on in high school, Zach joined his high school newspaper, the Coyote Chronicle, as a sports-beat reporter. He then became the sports editor for his final two years and carried his passion for sports journalism into college and beyond.

He is a huge sports fan, growing up playing basketball all the way through high school, but watching every and all types of sports. During the NBA season, he is cheering on his hometown Phoenix Suns and during the NFL Season he is rooting for the Washington Commanders.

When he is not at the station, he is out at the golf course, going to the gym or just hanging out exploring new spots around the Panhandle. He encourages viewers to stop him and say hello if they see him around, he'd love to talk sports with you!
